Hello my loves, how are you all doing?? 🌻🌻
I see a lot of people who admire or want to have a white background Instagram feed. Is it your case? Is that why I came to stop here? Or are you just curious? Hehe! It doesn’t matter, I’m sure you’ll like the post.
I understand the appeal of the white background feed well. Even for a long time, the studio’s Insta was very white (going down to see what it was like before).
It was not entirely, but I prioritized photos with a very clear background. It looks super clean and professional, and looks well organized too. And chic, of course hehe! 😇💗But I stopped doing it because it was soooo much work, that I just didn’t use my Insta. I couldn’t post, it took hours to edit each post .. HAHAHA!
But if that is your goal, and the white background is what you want, let’s go to the tips!
First, I highly suggest you take a look at my special 5 posts on Instagram feed organization. There is a lot of useful information for those with a mission to make your Insta beautiful! ✨✨
In one of the posts for the special, I spoke briefly about white feeds, and about the fact that the most important thing is to take the photos with the feed in mind.
Clear images, with as few colors as possible, or with the colors that interest you, are the first step towards achieving this goal. Editing is just a complement!
But there are other ways to lighten the feed without necessarily having to have very clear photos, exploding white everywhere. If you have design skills, you can make collages where the base is all white, and the photos, whatever color they are, are placed on top. There are people who call it an infinite background. Or even use polaroid frames [post here] or white borders around the photo [post here].
💡 A cool feature to use in your designs is high resolution white textured backgrounds. I’ll put 4 options below, which can be used as a background for phrases, collages, designs in general. I took Unsplash, and I’m making it available here just to make it easier!

How to have a white instagram feed
If your idea is an Insta only of photos, without collages, without borders, without any resources of that type, then to have this very white look, the photos have to be made (or hunted online) already thinking about it, as I mentioned above . In these cases, the production needs to be done carefully, taking into account shadows, light, and everything that can affect the quality and sharpness of the photo ✨
I made a post here on the blog about flatlays that will help a lot to those who like to photograph objects, at home. With today’s cell phones, absolutely anyone can take great photos without major productions. It means having a great alignment, selecting what to photograph well, worrying about a nice and beautiful angle and always, always really, have great lighting!
Another blog post here that will help fans of white background feeds a lot is this one about negative spaces. It has everything to do with the subject, since it refers precisely to the empty spaces in the image that give the feeling of lightness and organization 😌😌
How to edit white background images
Some tips to remember always:
- The VSCO app is my favorite photo treatment among the free options. There’s a whole post about him here.
- The care in white background photos has to be not to over burst the light so that the contours and shape of the image is lost. So you have to use the tools with care.
- In addition to increasing the lighting, it is worth regulating the temperature. I like to cool the photo, because I think it seems to lighten up. But it is your preference. The important thing is to observe all the images you are going to post, to always follow the same temperature. This from the unit to the feed.
- If you prefer, you can apply a direct filter. The problem with filters is that they affect each image differently. Edit the photo tool for more control tool.
I created 5 feed ideas down here especially for this post. I think they fit that style that people like so much! I wanted to show the possibilities to observe the differences between them, to help each one to choose the option that best fits your reality and your goals.
White background Instagram feed ideas:
1. Abundant brightness
In the feed above, all the photos are super bright and with clear backgrounds. In the video I made of the development, you will notice that I made the backgrounds more bluish on purpose. I think that makes all the photos look more similar to each other, and the unique personality for the feed.
2. White background + solid color
A second example with a light background, without being entirely white. In fact, I believe that when people say they want a feed with a white background, they often refer to this. They are photos with a clear background, basically. Pure white is very artificial.
3. White background + minimalism
This white feed is already much more extreme. Super hard to keep something like that in real life, right? Haha ha! But I couldn’t help including it.
Still, the backgrounds of the photos are not really white. As I mentioned above, it looks artificial. So here I tried to standardize the tone of the backgrounds of all the photos, which was not identical (it would take hours to be hahah), but it got closer!
This is one of the types of feeds that some people call the infinite background. I’ll do a post just on that subject later, with more details!
4. White borders
I put the word edges in quotes because in this case they are not specifically that. There are empty spaces in each image, in which the background appears. In the video you can understand it better. This example looks more like a collage than a bordered feed. You can also fit inside the “infinite background” that I will talk about in a post soon!
Notice how the white background seems to lighten the whole feed!
But, as I always say, I don’t think these clippings work for any feed, and I don’t find it easy to maintain. In my opinion, only artistic feeds look so beautiful, as long as the design is done professionally, and the photos have a lot of quality. But it’s just a personal opinion, please do as you like most 🙂
5. White background + warm tones
Finally, a very blogger style, with clear backgrounds in different tones. It goes from almost pure white to a little more closed gray. But you catch your eye and what you see is a well-lit feed with predominantly white backgrounds, right?
In this option I also put something interesting. The photo with the cup of coffee in the top row has no light background. But it still worked, because much of the image is white. In addition, it is very symmetrical and centralized, giving an incredible sense of harmony. All of this, added to the fact that it matches the aesthetics of the rest of the feed, gave me the ok to test it. And it worked!
I hope the feeds are inspiring and the information helps. If any clarification is missing in the post, just leave a comment here, which I will probably answer in a few minutes. Instagram messages take days, and sometimes I forget! 😅
I’ll leave some images down here for you to train, or use in your feeds. Everything via Unsplash, as always …
